A Cellist's Online World

I've been interested in creating content since I was a kid, and in 2019, I decided to bring my passion for the cello to the web. I started the YouTube channel Cello Ben, and focused on doing the viral 100 Days of Practice challenge (started by Hilary Hahn, I think). I focused on explaining what I was doing, and I found that this not only provided resources for other cellists, but made me work in a more deliberate way at the instrument. After all, if I need to explain something, I need to dive in and make sure I know 100% of what's going on.

I now have a catalog of hundreds of videos. Some long and informative, some short and humorous. But the common thread that goes through this is my passion for community among cellists. Here's a playlist of some of my favorites:

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I created a lot of educational content. Namely, a series of online masterclasses, which you can find on my teaching page, and an online cello course for adult beginners, which I have been so pleased to see grow to thousands of enrolled students.

I care deeply about what the cello community wants to see. That is, what technical help people may need, what pieces they're working on, etc. So if you have something you want to see covered in a video, please do drop me a line!
